Approach to Mediation
Why I am the mediator for you…
My first job outside of law school was as a public defender in Jacksonville, Florida. That job trained me to defend those with less financial resources and sharpened my skillset as an advocate and litigator. I also discovered a talent for dissecting the facts, listening intently to witnesses, and for viewing situations from several different angles.

My second job is as a family law attorney. I still practice as a partner at Rowsey and Stelter in Roswell, Georgia. I enjoy family law because it’s an opportunity to work with families and help them transition from fear and loss to a healthier place of hope and regrowth. I have practiced domestic law almost exclusively for over a decade. I have crafted and designed hundreds of parenting plans, settlement agreements, and child support worksheets. As a result, I have an in-depth knowledge of issues involving alimony, custody, child support, and equitable division. If there is an unusual or unique situation, chances are likely that I have seen it and helped craft a resolution for it.

My third and favorite job is being a Mediator with Solve IT! Life is a journey, and no one travels alone. Relationships are valuable and healthy relationships are vital to our induvial success. Although family disputes and other civil squabbles are inevitable it doesn’t mean the relationship or connection must cease. They can be redefined for a better fit to suite each party’s needs. During mediation I give each party a place to be respected and heard. It’s an opportunity for you to voice your position and priorities. Then I help engage the parties to participate and/or try on a range of solutions to see what fits best for them. I love mediating because it allows me to control the process and the parties themselves to control the outcome. All of this comes at a cost that is far less and more private than taking it to Court for a judge to determine your family's fate. There is no more gratifying job in my mind than mediating and helping parties resolve their issues on terms they had a hand in.
